Hacker group Anonymous breached the Web site of Romania's National Institute of Research for Optoelectronics (INOE), along with other important subdomains and leaked nearly 2,000 confidential files.

It's been 2 days since we are trying to win a battle on the stormy seas of the internet, and we finally managed to win the battle. This time, our vessel breached National Institute of Research for Optoelectronics (INOE), along with other important subdomains, and dumped some very interesting docs, read a post by the Romanian faction of Anonymous.

At the time of reporting, INOE's main domain, inoe.ro, was not available.

According to the hacker group, the hacked data, totaling 2.8 GB, included 1,810 files in 297 folders. Anonymous also provided download links for the massive data pack on its Web site.

Softpedia said the hacker group believes that the amounts of money spent by INOE are extremely large. A document, identified by hackers in the leaked files, showed that the firm spent around $300,000 on a computer.

The hacktivist groups have been very active in Romania in the past few days.

Earlier this week, the hacker group operating under the AnonOpsRomania moniker leaked data stolen in a recent raid on Romania's spy agencies. It claimed to obtain the names of more than 700 active and 2,500 inactive Foreign Intelligence Agency (SIE) agents.

Last week, Anonymous group reportedly leaked the country's National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering database online. Watch the video below.
