Depeche Mode is touring the world, everybody's talking about Star Wars, and Justin Bieber's wearing drop-crotch pants. The 80s are back, people. But no matter how much you're channeling the era, your smartphone is a dead giveaway that you're living in 2017. That is, unless you wrap your iPhone in one of Slickwraps' new retro skins, which put a little 80s back into your 21st-century tech. The skin can fit every iPhone since the 5S, and pays homage to the original 1984 Macintosh: that beige case, the rainbow Apple logo, the fan-cutout markings. All for just $19.84.

In general, I'm firmly anti-case. You bought your phone at least in part because you like the way it looks, you appreciate the care and precision put into its construction. Why hide all that under a $6 piece of silicone? This one feels different, though. It really does feel like the phone Steve Jobs might have designed back in the earliest days of Apple. You know, assuming the processors and camera tech had advanced this far but nobody's design sense changed a bit.

Like all skins and wraps, this one won't save your iPhone from anything scarier than a scratch. But it's easy enough to put on, and it won't bulk up your phone or make the buttons harder to push---it's only 0.212 millimeters thick. (If even that bothers you, good news: You can spend $1,900 and get Colorware's custom 7 Plus, which looks almost identical.) The skin evens wraps around the front of the phone, so that it feels less like a case and more like the phone's original design. It looks particularly good on the crisp lines of the iPhone 5S, and it's a pretty good excuse for having such an old phone. "I know, so outdated, right? It's from 1984!"
