Two held as suspect device found in Waterford

Police in the Irish Republic have arrested two men in Waterford following the discovery of what they are describing as a suspect device.

The device was found when gardai stopped a car on the Cork Road in Butlerstown, at 1400 GMT on Monday.

An Irish Army bomb disposal team examined the device and it has since been removed.

Two men in their 20s are being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
